Everyone Loves a Well-Trained Dog

My name is Diana Brady, I am a certified dog trainer and owner of K9 One-on-One Training, providing services in Toronto, York Region and surrounding areas.

After losing my dog, Hara at the age of 13, I decided the next dog that would come into my life would be a rescue. I travelled to many shelters in search of a connection, but had no luck. It wasn’t until I met Iris that I knew I had something special. Iris is a high-energy German Shepherd who strives for mental and physical activity. She challenged me to take on that leadership role, as I could tell from the start, she needed. She has a warm heart with lots of drive, but she needed some direction. That’s when I began my certification in dog training. From there I joined The German Shepherd Schutzhund Club of Canada (GSSCC) and became surrounded by great mentors who have pushed me further than I could have ever imagined.

I feel it’s important to continue your education in order to grow and expand your knowledge from great teachers. I strive to take a seminar at least once a year with individuals who are highly regarded in the canine world.

In both 2014 and 2015 I was fortunate to be able to take a weekend seminar course with Lance Collins. Lance has placed several times at the WUSV Championships along with teaching, doing Helper work and judging.

Spring of 2017 I attended two seminars with Nino Drowaert who is the head trainer of the Antwerp Police Department K9 Unit. Nino is one of Belgium’s leading puppy trainers through to adult competitive and working dogs.

I feel lucky that I have had these opportunities to learn and develop myself as a trainer. I feel blessed that I have Iris as a part of my life. More importantly, I feel excited to educate and empower you to build a strong bond with your dog.
